Our Story
“If you can't tell your story, you don't exist."
Founded by the Federation of Austrian Industries as the SPIDI Spracheninstitut in 1961, SPIDI can look back on a successful history spanning more than half a century. At the end of the 1990s, SPIDI was taken over by a group of private investors together with the Managementinstitut MDI. Margarete Friedl has been the owner and managing director of SPIDI since 2004. In 2007, she and her team relocated to the new premises and opened the training centre at Vienna's Schwedenplatz.
In SPIDI's long and eventful history, there has been one constant companion: quality. Quality is the constant thread running through our company personality, which includes innovative concepts, a role as trendsetter as well as state-of-the-art training and consultation.
Language and communication are becoming increasingly important aspects of entrepreneurial activity. SPIDI has grown as a logical consequence of this development:
in 2008 we established the business segment SPIDI.communicating and in 2010, SPIDI Spracheninstitut was renamed SPIDI.language. With offices throughout Austria and numerous national and international partners, SPIDI can guarantee a high global quality standard. SPIDI's realignment gives it a decisive advantage and an edge for the future.
There are lots of companies out there, but it is the “how” that makes the difference in today's marketplace.
